The tech firm Anthropic filed two federal lawsuits on Monday against the Trump administration alleging that Pentagon officials illegally retaliated after the company said it would not allow its Claude AI model to be used for autonomous weapons or mass surveillance of American citizens. The lawsuit says the administration’s decision to block all Pentagon suppliers from using Claude was an effort to punish the company over its AI safety guardrails.
